Reading readiness
Letter–sound mapping, blending simple words and recognising sight words, alongside a lot of being read to. Comprehension comes from listening long before it comes from decoding.
Numbers through games
Counting on, simple addition with objects, patterns, comparison and measurement — all through games where getting it right actually matters to the child.
Pencil control and early writing
Formal letter formation begins here, but only after the hand is ready. Grip, posture and control come first; neat books come after.
Show-and-tell confidence
Standing up and speaking to the room, answering questions and listening to someone else's turn. The single most useful skill for the transition to a bigger school.
What a LKG day looks like
A circle and calendar routine, a literacy block, a numeracy block, free-choice learning corners, snack and outdoor play, and a closing story, project or show-and-tell session.
We run Monday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. See the rooms this happens in.
By the end of the year
Children develop at their own pace and we never treat this as a checklist. It's what we're working towards together.

- Counts, compares and adds small quantities with objects
- Speaks to a group without prompting and answers questions clearly
- Works at a task for a sustained stretch and tidies up after it
